At Learning Land in Mirdif, our Nursery Curriculum combines the globally renowned EYFS with the Reggio Emilia approach.
Our nursery curriculum sets the foundation for lifelong learning. We believe children need to explore, learn, grow and express themselves creatively. We work to develop children to become independent, lifelong learners.
We offer a unique Learning Triangle Curriculum (LTC). This nursery curriculum has been carefully designed to provide your child with a great educaional experience. We providde learning opportunities that inspire natural curiosity and imagination.
Our approach is holistic – building upon the individuality of each child. We understand that each child develps in different ways and we teach your child based on their individual needs. We aim to provide children with the necessary skills that foster confidence, critical thinking and independence. Our nursery curriculum helps us reach our ultimate goal
Our Learning Triangle Curriculum is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is enriched by the Reggio Emilia approach and our Exposure to Languages programme.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
EYFS provides useful direction and detailed information about children’s learning and development. It is constantly reviewed by the British Department of Education in order to remain at the forefront
of early year’s education. The EYFS integrates three prime areas and four specific areas of learning and
development. Each area incorporates relevant, age appropriate achievable goals from 0 to 60 months.
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Expressive Art and Design
- Understanding of the World
The Reggio Emilia Approach
Within our Learning Triangle Curriculum, the EYFS framework is enriched by the Reggio Emilia approach. At Learning Land Nursery we emphasise four main aspects of the Reggio Emilia Approach:
- Children’s Creative Expression through a range of media such as art, 3D creations, music, dance, etc.
- Documentation of children’s work
- Partnership between children, parents and Learning Land Nursery
- Overall Environment at Learning Land Nursery
The Exposure to Languages Programme
Research suggests when children are exposed to different languages from an early age it lays the foundation for future language acquisition. At Learning Land Nursery, we have a dedicated teacher who engages and exposes our children in age appropriate activities in Arabic and French. The activities in Arabic and French are linked to the classes current themes as well as to children’s abilities.
